You became a vet because you want to help pets actually heal.

You imagined watching pets maintain glowing health under your care, forming close bonds with pet parents who trust, value, and appreciate you, and building a career that feels deeply fulfilling and undeniably meaningful.

But somewhere along the way, that dream got buried under the weight of rushed appointments, endless prescriptions, and the nagging feeling that you’re just managing symptoms, not truly helping pets heal.

Seeing the same pet parent come in for a 5th time with the same pet having the same issue feels like déjà vu in the worst way.

And when you hand them the same prescription, they look at you with pleading eyes.

“Is there really nothing else you can do to help them?”

Oof. It feels like a punch to the gut. You see the disappointment settle in their face, and your heart sinks right along with it.

You tell them, as gently as you can, this is the best we can do. Because it’s all you’ve been taught. But deep down? Deep down, you know there has to be a solution.

“there’s nothing else we can do.”

YOU ARE THE VET WHO REFUSES TO BELIEVE

You became a vet to solve the cases no one else could—to be the doctor that pets and their families desperately need.

Yet, you find yourself feeling a twinge of envy when you see that super-successful vet on Instagram because it's not that fun seeing them living the life you want.

Why do they make so much more money than you? Why do they always have those smiling photos with grateful pet parents?

THE TRUTH IS THEY'VE JUST UNDERSTOOD THE SHIFT THAT'S HAPPENED IN VET MED...

Because you didn’t become a vet just to
suppress symptoms.

The market has

Pet parents want more. And as a vet in 2025, you have to keep up.

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, the days of pet owners are long gone now. They’re now proud pet parents.

And these pet parents want to invest in vets, like you, who get it—who share their values and recognize just how important their furry family member is.

Fifty years ago, vets were the ultimate gatekeepers of knowledge. Pet owners simply followed your advice, no questions asked.

But today’s pet parents? They’ve got Google. They’ve got ChatGPT. And they do a lot of research when something’s wrong.

In 2025, pet parents aren’t just looking for a vet. They’re looking for a partner.  Your role is to guide them, walk them through all the options, and empower them to make  the best decisions for their pet.

And if you want to stay relevant, you need to offer the cutting-edge options they’re already searching for.

Which brings me to microbiome therapy…this is the leading-edge modality I believe every vet needs to master to truly thrive in 2025.

Here's why...

HIS NAME WAS KLAUS

Klaus was a German Shepherd patient of mine 6 years ago, and I’d see him every couple of weeks for his chronic GI issues.

But no matter what I prescribed, his bouts of diarrhea kept coming back.

It just wasn’t responding to any drugs. At that point, his mom was beyond frustrated and eager to find an alternative approach.

And then—she came to me with an idea.

I was already aware of the promising research in humans, so I thought, Why not? I’m totally up for it.

I did some digging to find the best donor material and used the only fecal transplant protocol available at the time.

We put Klaus under anesthesia, transplanted a large volume of fecal matter, and then rotated him—10 minutes on one side, 10 minutes on the other, and 10 minutes in the sternal position.

After just one more fecal transplant session, Klaus’s gut issues were completely resolved.

No more bouts of diarrhea. No repeat prescriptions. No side effects. No more frustration for his mom or that awful feeling of powerlessness on my end.

And just like that, I was hooked.

I had to use this modality to help more pets!

Since Klaus, I’ve been able to achieve remarkable results for my patients again and again.

I no longer had to guess my way through these tough cases.

I was finally recognizing the patterns—understanding why pets were struggling with chronic health issues, what to do next, and how to actually help them heal.

I no longer felt like I was missing something (which, if I’m being honest, didn’t exactly make me feel like the best vet).

Now? I know exactly what’s going on.

In fact, microbiome therapy has become my go-to for chronic conditions.

I want to solve unsolvable cases

Important Note: Even if you don’t have an ozone machine, aren’t trained in acupuncture, B12 aquapuncture, or any of these other modalities, you’ll still see massive benefits from doing microbiome therapy alone because restoring the microbiome was the tipping point for all these cases.

Miss Penny

her health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Her Heal:

Miss Penny is a 5-year-old Chihuahua who presented with chronic pancreatitis, early morning bilious vomiting, microbiome imbalance, and chronic irritability. She was being hospitalized every 2-3 months for chronic pancreatitis, and started on a prescription diet for management, but she remained symptomatic.

We performed microbiome testing, confirming dysbiosis, and initiated a combined treatment plan: serial fecal microbiota transplants, rectal ozone therapy, Acupuncture with Vitamin B12 injections, and targeted nutraceutical support (Whole Food Fiber, ProSynbiotic, Ion Biome, and calming mushroom blends). We started transitioning her to a fresh food diet. Within months, Penny’s early morning vomiting resolved, her pancreatic symptoms stabilized, and her microbiome normalized. She was able to tolerate a variety of fresh foods, and her temperament transformed, shifting from anxious and defensive to affectionate, social, and eager for interaction. And yes, no more hospital visits for pancreatitis!

Paddington

her health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Her Heal:

Paddington, a 4 year old mixed-breed dog, presented with chronic severe diarrhea, vomiting, poor appetite, and irritability. Despite being placed on steroids and a prescription hydrolyzed diet for suspected inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), her symptoms persisted and her family was constantly cleaning up diarrhea and vomit, not sleeping well through the night, and worried about her not eating.

We performed microbiome testing, addressed key vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and started a series of microbiome restorative therapies to reprogram her gut health. Month by month, her resilience grew — after six months, she transitioned to a fresh food diet, and after one year, her microbiome normalized, her chronic symptoms disappeared, and her personality transformed. For such a young dog, even though her recovery took time, she now has a lifetime of health to look forward to, free of GI struggles, free of daily medications, and, most importantly, free from the prescription diet she hated.

Otis

his health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Him Heal:

Otis, a seven-year-old Goldendoodle, had a history of stress-related colitis, sudden bouts of bloody diarrhea anytime life threw a curveball, like a change in routine or when his family traveled. Even though Otis stayed cheerful and playful through it all, his family lived with the constant worry of when the next episode would hit. He was previously managed with metronidazole, on and off during his flare-ups.

Microbiome testing confirmed severe dysbiosis, and we built a tailored plan combining microbiome restorative therapy (FMT), rectal ozone therapy, acupuncture with B12 injections, and gut-stabilizing supplements. We didn’t use any metronidazole. Little by little, Otis’s gut grew stronger — and for the first time in years, his family didn’t have to brace for sudden flare-ups. Today, Otis’s mirobiome is stable, his digestion is smooth, and his family can enjoy their adventures without the fear of him getting ill.

Jasmine
(22 years old)

her health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Her Heal:

Jasmine came to us facing serious challenges: Stage 3 kidney disease, ongoing weight loss, a finicky appetite, and GI instability. For most cats at her age, decline can feel inevitable, but we believed Jasmine still had a couple good strong years in her.

By focusing on stabilizing her gut health through microbiome therapy, we helped restore her digestion, support nutrient absorption, and balance her immune system. Paired with regular acupuncture and ozone therapy, Jasmine's kidney disease remained stable for over three years. Today, at 22 years young, Jasmine is still thriving — happily meowing for her meals, bossing her mom around, and living every day with the fiery spirit of a cat half her age.

Sophie

her health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Her Heal:

When Sophie, a 12-year-old Havapoo, came to us, she had already been diagnosed with metastatic anal gland adenocarcinoma which had spread to her abdominal lymph nodes. She also had a lifelong history of chronic diarrhea, gastrointestinal imbalance, food sensitivities, and struggled on and off with allergies. In addition, she faced mild heart disease, dermal masses, and a history of septic abdomen with liver concerns — making her a medically complex patient.

While we supported her liver and immune system with an integrative treatment plan — including acupuncture, rectal ozone therapy, high-dose IV vitamin C, and herbal therapies — a critical piece of her healing was restoring her microbiome health. By addressing her chronic GI issues through microbiome therapy, we reduced systemic inflammation and strengthened her immune system, an essential ally in fighting cancer. Over time, Sophie's digestion stabilized, her appetite improved, and she began to truly thrive. Now, more than three years post initial cancer diagnosis, Sophie continues to live vibrantly — eating well, full of energy, and famously outpacing her mom on their daily walks with a bark bigger than dogs twice her size.

Buddha

his health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Him Heal:

Buddha, a 10-year-old French Bulldog, came to us after being diagnosed with a heart-based mass, pulmonary hypertension, and chronic valvular disease following a fainting episode. He also had a long history of allergies, an imbalanced microbiome, and we later found mercury and glyphosate toxicity, and extreme sensitivity to dietary changes that often triggered severe GI upset. His family sought a holistic path to support him through these complex challenges.

We performed microbiome testing and initiated microbiome restorative therapy alongside regular acupuncture, ozone therapy, and a comprehensive detoxification plan. By healing his gut, cleaning up his diet, and supporting his immune system naturally, Buddha’s health stabilized — with no progression of his heart mass since July 2023 and no further fainting or seizure-like episodes, all without additional pharmaceuticals. He now thrives on a variety of fresh foods, enjoys excellent digestion, and has blossomed into a more energetic, lively, and joyful companion — with friends and family constantly remarking on his newfound vibrancy and happiness.

Pneuma

her health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Her Heal:

Pneuma, a 4-year-old French Bulldog, came to us with a history of significant anxiety, emotional sensitivity, and a fragile GI system that would easily react to even minor changes. She was prone to stress-induced digestive upset, had a history of multiple urinary tract infections, and could not tolerate any food changes — even the temperature of her meals needed careful attention. Her family worried that chronic stress and gut instability were setting the stage for deeper health challenges.

Through microbiome testing and environmental toxin screening, we uncovered underlying glyphosate and mercury toxicity. We initiated microbiome restorative therapy, alongside detoxification support and emotional balancing therapies - including acupuncture and essential oil therapy, helping to stabilize her gut and calm her nervous system. Over time with microbiome therapy, Pneuma’s digestion improved, her resilience to change grew stronger, and her overall anxiety softened. Today, she tolerates a variety of fresh foods, her GI symptoms are controlled, and she faces the world with a calmer, steadier spirit — setting the foundation for long-term health and vitality.

Zander

his health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Him Heal:

Zander, a 4-year-old Boxer, came to us with a long history of gastrointestinal instability — including chronic bilious vomiting in the middle of the night, episodes of diarrhea, nausea, and compulsive behaviors like eating feces and leaves when his gut was upset. Despite his mom's dedication with home remedies, probiotics, and supportive care, his symptoms remained unpredictable and exhausting, affecting both his quality of life and his family’s.

Testing revealed that Zander’s microbiome was severely imbalanced, setting the stage for his recurring digestive issues. Through a series of microbiome restorative therapies (fecal microbiota transplants), gut support, and nutritional adjustments, we were able to rebuild his gut health from the ground up. It took persistence — but today, Zander’s gut is stable, his nighttime vomiting was completely resolved, and both he and his mom are finally able to enjoy peaceful, uninterrupted sleep. His case is a reminder that when we heal the root cause, we can truly change lives — for both pets and their families.

Oliver

his health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Him Heal:

Oliver, an 11-year-old Chihuahua mix, came to us facing multiple serious health issues — Cushing's disease, severe skin ulcers and calcinosis cutis, cognitive dysfunction, hind limb weakness, and a newly diagnosed Grade VI/VI heart murmur cause by ruptured chordae tendineae. When he first arrived, he was extremely lethargic — described by his mom as almost “lifeless” — and showed little interest in people or interaction.

We started Oliver on a holistic Cushing’s management plan with natural supplements, a low dose of supportive medication, and microbiome restorative therapy to strengthen his gut and immune health. He also received amnion stem cell therapy after his heart event. Over the next six months, Oliver's heart condition completely resolved (confirmed by cardiology recheck), his skin lesions healed, and his energy and spirit returned. Oliver was a different dog after his healing journey — playful, social, wagging his tail with excitement, and thriving with a healthier gut, stronger body, and a joyful heart.

Bella

her health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Her Heal:

Bella, a 10-year-old German Shepherd mix, first came to us severely lethargic, barely eating, and struggling with significant urinary incontinence. Diagnostic testing revealed a pelvic-origin hemangiosarcoma with suspected metastasis to the lungs, along with elevated glyphosate levels, severe vitamin D deficiency, and elevated cardiac biomarkers. Her prognosis after surgery was grave — her surgeon and medical oncologist estimated a survival time of only three months, even with chemotherapy.

Before surgery, we stabilized Bella by restoring her microbiome, treating her UTI, correcting her vitamin D deficiency, and starting ozone therapy and acupuncture to support her immune system and vitality. After surgery, her family chose a holistic path, focusing on microbiome healing, detoxification of glyphosate toxicity, IV vitamin C therapy and targeted herbal therapies. Six months later, Bella showed no signs of tumor regrowth in imaging, was eating enthusiastically, and had regained her strength— all without the use of chemotherapy or ongoing pharmaceuticals. Her story highlights the power of gut healing, detoxification, and supporting the body’s innate ability to fight even the most serious diseases.

Gregg

his health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Him Heal:

Gregg, a 6-year-old Chihuahua/Poodle mix, came to us struggling with chronic allergies — constant itching, hair loss, and visible skin changes that impacted his comfort and quality of life.

We conducted allergy testing to identify and minimize his environmental and dietary triggers, and began microbiome restorative therapy to strengthen his gut-immune connection. After his initial microbiome restoration, Gregg's itching resolved completely, his skin healed, and he has remained symptom-free for over three years — living happily without allergy flare-ups or the need for ongoing medications.

Diggie

her health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Her Heal:

Diggie, an 11-year-old Havanese, developed severe skin issues after undergoing bladder stone surgery. She was constantly itchy and scratching and she'd started losing all her hair. Despite being treated with multiple rounds of antibiotics — at least 3–5 different types — her symptoms would only temporarily improve before recurring, each time worse than before. When we cultured her skin, she was diagnosed with a highly resistant MRSA infection, one of the most severe we had seen.

We immediately stopped all antibiotics and shifted focus to rebuilding her natural defenses. Diggie began a comprehensive healing plan that included restorative topical therapy, serial fecal microbiota transplants to restore her gut and immune system, and supportive treatments like acupuncture and IV ozone therapy. Over time, her itching resolved, her coat regrew, and she transformed from a miserable, nearly hairless dog into a joyful, thriving companion, finally free from itchy skin and discomfort

Lincoln

her health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Her Heal:

Lincoln, a 4-year-old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, struggled with chronic ear infections and constant paw chewing. Despite repeated ear treatments, her symptoms would only temporarily resolve before flaring up again, creating ongoing frustration for both Lincoln and her family.

When Lincoln came to us, we focused on restoring her gut health through microbiome therapy, identifying and minimizing her allergy triggers, and supporting her immune system with a series of fecal microbiota transplants. Along with gentle ear care during the healing process, Lincoln made a full recovery — her ear infections resolved, her paw chewing stopped, and her family can now enjoy road trips and adventures without worrying about flare-ups. She’s thriving, comfortable, and living life to the fullest.

Opie

his health struggle:

How Microbiome Helped Him Heal:

Opie, a 14-year-old orange tabby, came to us diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), struggling with frequent vomiting and significant weight loss. Despite a trial of steroids, his symptoms persisted, and euthanasia was being considered due to his declining quality of life. Opie had the sweetest personality and lived in a home full of feline friends, and we knew he still had more life to live.

We started Opie on a program of feline fecal microbiota transplants to rebuild his gut health, along with small-dose prednisone, regular B12 acupuncture, and supportive therapies. His vomiting stopped, he stabilized his weight, and his energy returned. Today, Opie is thriving — playing, running around the house, and enjoying the happy, comfortable life he deserves with his kitty companions.

AND THE SCIENCE
BACKS IT UP

AS YOU CAN SEE. I STARTED SOLVING CASES THAT CONVENTIONAL VETERINARY MEDICINE WOULD HAVE CONSIDERED UNSOLVABLE

However, the old method was messy and time-consuming, and the pet having to be sedated/anesthetized for the procedure was a major turn-off to pet parents.

It also carried greater risks just due to the sedation part of the protocol.

(And actually, most pet parents were saying no to the treatment simply because they didn’t want to have their pets sedated.)

So, I started experimenting with ways to achieve a successful fecal transplant WITHOUT sedation and this led to inventing my own sedation-free protocol.

Which turned out to be a much more pleasant experience for pets and their people.

Pet parents could even stay with their pet for the procedure, which both of them loved!

It was fast and easy! Pets were comfortable, and most of all, the results were remarkable.

(Even better than the sedated protocol!)

The next step I had to figure out?

Making this a profitable and efficient part of my practice, so we could help as many pets as possible.

5 years later, it runs like a well-oiled machine, and we’ve created not only an easily manageable system for my team but a stress-free experience for my pet parents.

The reason I’m now sharing everything I’ve learned with other vets through this training is that I can’t be the only vet doing this.

Nearly every pet in the world needs microbiome therapy, and very few vets have the skills to offer this revolutionary technique.

And if you’re feeling a little skeptical right now, you’re not alone.

When I trained in acupuncture, I wasn’t sure it was even scientific. Still, I had to find a way to support my arthritis pets and avoid euthanasia because an otherwise healthy pet just couldn’t stand up anymore.

And when I first heard of fecal transplants, I was like, what? I transplant poop?! I hadn’t heard of it.

And now  these “alternative therapies” have not only gotten the most remarkable results for my clients but offering these high-value services has allowed me to keep the practice running while spending a lot more time on less clients and their beloved pets. (Work smarter, not harder, right?)

I was able to earn more while working with fewer clients and dedicating more time to them.

No conveyor belt of 15-minute appointments, no relying on repeat prescriptions, no depending on vaccines and antibiotics to bring in revenue, and no pet parents feeling disheartened because they didn’t get their questions answered.

The Dream!

founder of the Integrative Pet Wellness Center and now The Unicorn Academy

Let me tell you why we’re called the unicorns.

When I started my practice, I wanted to create something different—a place where we didn’t just chase symptoms or manage disease, but where we truly healed pets by looking deeper, getting curious, and always staying open to possibility.

We became a space where pet parents could come for hope — for answers when they were told there were none.

Before long, clients began calling us the Unicorn Practice because what we were doing felt rare, courageous, and yes—a little bit magical.

That name stuck, and it’s how I am known as The Unicorn Vet.

For the past 18 years, I’ve been walking alongside pets and their people, helping them heal, when conventional medicine had run out of answers.

Because here’s the honest truth: our modern pets are getting sicker than ever.

Chronic disease is on the rise, and the standard veterinary model? It’s just not cutting it anymore.

Suppressing symptoms isn’t true healing and pet parents feel that. And deep down, so do we.

That’s why I believe every vet today needs to master microbiome therapy.

It’s not just another “tool in the toolbox”. For so many cases, it’s the missing key to true, root-cause healing.

And now, with pet parents actively seeking real solutions and more holistic side-effect free options, this knowledge isn’t optional anymore, it’s essential.

The reason I created The Magic of Microbiome Training is to give you exactly what I wish I had years ago: Hands-on experience. Real-world scenarios. And everything you need to confidently implement this modality for your most complex chronic cases.

Imagine being the vet who gets results when nothing else has worked.

The one pet parents turn to when everything feels hopeless.

Offering services that truly get transformative results is what allows you to charge more and work with fewer clients. This is how you avoid burnout and give each pet parent and their pet the attention they really deserve.

Join me inside The Unicorn Academy, and together, let’s reimagine what’s possible for pets, their people, and the future of veterinary care.

Meet the Original Unicorn Vet

Dr. Lily Chen is one of the most impressive veterinarians I have had the pleasure of working with in my career. She blends together a deep understanding of people, patients, and medicine to create healthcare experiences that are utterly unique. Dr. Chen is truly a trailblazer in the veterinary world.

Dr. Andy Roark

Founder, Uncharted Veterinary Conference & DrAndyRoark.com

I had the unfortunate pleasure of Lily working with my own dog and I say that with a wink, because she only got involved when things felt a bit hopeless. Thanks to her care and recommendations, my girl is still thriving at 15 years old. I’ve watched Lily grow from a serene, hands-on solopreneur practice into the heart of a thriving, integrative practice filled with changemakers. What’s most remarkable is that even as her team has grown, she’s never lost the personal touch with her clients. She leads with precision, compassion, and a kind of presence that radiates through every patient and every practitioner she touches.

Ronald Sosa

Founder, Syn-APT
Executive Director, Uncharted veterinary conference

Lily was a lifeline through every step of my dog Fern’s microbiome journey. Her knowledge, compassion, and willingness to walk alongside us made all the difference. After months of chronic diarrhea and frustration, fecal transplants was the only thing that brought Fern true relief—and now she’s thriving. This therapy didn’t just help my dog, it changed the way I practice medicine. I can’t recommend this work, or Lily, highly enough.

Jenn Galvin

Veterinary Practice Owner
Advanced Animal care

I’ve always admired Lily and her practice because, if you’d asked me for my opinion in the beginning, I’d have thought she was mad and doomed to fail. And I kind of love that I a) would have been so wrong, b) couldn’t do what she does, and c) there is such a wide and wild breadth of ways to operate an animal hospital successfully.
There aren’t a lot of people doing genuinely innovative things in veterinary medicine—but Lily is one of them. I also admire anyone who has the courage to live their life with such authenticity, and she does exactly that.
I'd love to see her keep being herself—it’s really quite fun to be a fan of hers!

Dr. William Tancredi

Veterinary Practice Owner

I believe the gut microbiome plays an important and emerging role in immune health, which is relevant to cancer development and progression. The gut microbiome is also profoundly impacted by cancer and its therapies, and supporting it may help complement conventional treatment and improve overall patient well-being.

Collaborating with Dr. Lily Chen has been a meaningful and inspiring experience. She brings both compassion and scientific curiosity to her work, offering a thoughtful, integrative approach that addresses an often-overlooked aspect of veterinary care. Her work is a valuable contribution to the growing conversation around whole-body support for veterinary cancer patients.

A live coaching program where you'll master microbiome therapy through hands-on experience and real-time expert guidance, and you'll get to do your first fecal transplant just 1 month after enrolling.

The reason microbiome therapy has to be a practical training with both live and hands-on components is because the only way to truly master this art is to practice it (with all the support you need to do an outstanding job from pet #1, of course).

And every pet’s case is so unique that you have to have real-time guidance from an expert to tailor the therapy to that pet’s specific microbiome imbalances.

That’s how you finally start making progress with those frustrating, “unsolvable” cases.

This is exactly why I designed The Magic of Microbiome Therapy Training the way I have.

You won’t just learn microbiome therapy—you’ll do it.

From day one, you’ll choose one of your own pet patients to work with

(and yes, I’ll show you exactly how to get your first pet parent on board!)

Every module you complete will guide you step-by-step through using microbiome therapy for your challenging case.

And you won’t be doing it alone.

My team and I will personally support you through every stage—from getting set up with the labs to getting pet parents excited and signed up for this transformative therapy, to selecting the right donor material for your pet, all the way to being on a live video call with you as you perform your very first fecal transplant.

This isn’t just another training.

By the end, you won’t just understand the science behind microbiome therapy—you’ll have already put it into practice with expert guidance, so you can confidently offer it as a service right away.

You might even take two or three pets through the full microbiome therapy process by the time the 12 weeks are up.

And here’s the thing—you could start getting paid with your very first pet.

(That’s right, you could potentially make back the cost of this training within weeks of completing it.)

It’s like an immersive, real-world apprenticeship.

           Of MicrobiomeTraining

Introducing the

AND THAT'S NOT ALL...

You’ll also get my checklists, templates, and proven systems for making microbiome therapy a profitable part of your practice.

The process that took me 5 years to systemize and streamline? It’s yours when you enroll in this training.

This is so much more than a pre-recorded webinar that just teaches you about microbiome therapy.

This will be a small, intimate group—around 20 people—where my team and I will personally read over everyone’s assessments at the end of each week.

And if you fall behind? You’ll get a loving check-in from me or my team to see how we can support you.

Because our goal isn’t just for you to finish this training, it’s for you to master the art of microbiome restoration therapy.

We want every vet who enrolls to walk away fully equipped with the skills they need to transform their patients’ health by restoring their microbiome.

Before I created this program, the only way to get access to my sedation-free fecal transplant method, BiomeBalance™, was through one-on-one mentorship with me—which would have cost $15,000.

Now? It’s all inside this training, waiting for you.

Relief, at last! Our precious 6-year-old boy Thor has suffered from chronic allergies for most of his life! We've tried Apoquel, Cytopoint injections, Immunotherapy, steroids, numerous supplements, Atopica, frequent bathing, ear washing, ear drops, anti-itch sprays and paw wraps. You name it, we've tried it. He's also been on a restricted hydrolyzed protein diet. Still, there was no relief in sight. :( Our baby was still miserable. His quality of life was definitely sub-par. This is when Thor's conventional dermatologist told me about the Integrative Pet Wellness Center. She suggested that I check them out to see what alternative solutions they could offer. OMG! From the moment we met with Dr. Chen and the entire team, we could tell that they were a different kind of care facility. They're all so nice and compassionate. The whole atmosphere feels calming and smells good, too. The Unicorn Space is just that. It feels magical. After sessions including mFMT, aqua puncture, Phovia, and essential oils, Thor is a new guy! He's finally living a life where he doesn't seem miserable. I'm so thankful to his dermatologist for suggesting we reach out to Integrative Pet Wellness Center. As it turns out, relief for Thor was finally achieved by combining both Eastern and Western practices. THANK-YOU to the entire Integrative Pet Wellness Center team!

Dr. Lily transformed my 10-year-old boxer Oscar’s life after a grim hemangiosarcoma diagnosis and arthritis struggles. Her holistic approach, including acupuncture, supplements, and diet advice, exceeded all expectations. Skeptical at first, I soon saw Oscar thriving, with reduced arthritis pain and a newfound joy during sessions. Thanks to Dr. Lily’s care and support, Oscar has far outlived his prognosis, now 16 months post-diagnosis. Her compassion and expertise are unmatched—I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking extraordinary care for their pets.

Dr. Chen, Gaby, Maria, and the rest of the staff are all such wonderful, caring people. Our Dog Bernie was seen by them for almost a year and they treated him with such love and respect. They were able to extend his life many months beyond what we were told by other vets and gave us more time with our beloved guy. I would definitely recommend taking your animals here — they will be in great hands.

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Chen and her wonderful, dedicated staff. Our family pet, Mochi, suddenly developed a vertigo and balance issue that was so severe that she couldn’t walk straight and would fall on her side. This was compounded by her added inability to eat anything we tried to give her, Mochi’s condition was steadily worsening by the day. We were truly fearful at this point that we might lose her. A friend had spoken to me about the terrific experience she had with Dr. Chen, so we contacted Dr. Chen and were fortunate enough to be able to schedule an appointment for Mochi. Within a day after Mochi’s first treatment, she started to make a miraculous recovery and we could see her spunky personality steadily returning. She’s now her same energetic self. My friends who witnessed Mochi’s condition and saw her amazing recovery, wanted to see if they could make appointments with Dr. Chen, not for their pets but for themselves. I can’t thank you enough, Dr. Chen and Karina, for the kind and loving care that you give Mochi.

Dr. Chen is one of the most gentle and compassionate vets we have ever encountered. Her approach to helping our senior English Bulldog with her arthritis was simple and effective and gave our pup an incredible quality of life through age 16. Through alternative medicines, acupuncture, and laser therapies we were able to relieve her pain and even saw her run in the yard like a puppy after a few sessions. It gave us peace of mind knowing that we were doing what we could to keep our girl pain-free and happy. Bringing Dr. Chen into our lives was the best decision we ever made.

-Sandee

Dr. Lily Chen is the best!! Very happy that she has been our integrative vet this year. My Lulu has been in remission with IMHA since last summer of 2023. We found Dr. Chen and her amazing skills with integrative medicine. She has been monitoring/recommending plant based diet and supplements and working alongside with ur internal medicine veterinarian. She just was tested today and passed with flying colors. Our internal medicine vet told us that whatever we have been doing with Lulu's diet and supplements keep going! So happy for my Lu and happy with our internal med doc and very happy with Dr. Chen and her practice. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me care for my Lulu in her golden years!

As a pet parent to Kasey, my dog living with metastatic cancer, I am deeply grateful to add Dr. LilyChen and her awesome staff to his team of doctors. Her treatment rooms are in a spa-like setting and I am welcome to sit in on Kasey's exams and therapies. The gentle, thoughtful and compassionate care from the doctor and her staff (so far Ashley and Shannon), along with me being in the room, comforts Kasey as he undergoes undignified probing of his bum area due to his anal cancer. There is a place for surgery, chemo and radiation when it comes to cancer, but treating the overall wellness of mind, body and spirit is just as important IMHO. It is refreshing that the doctor sees Kasey as an individual and not a diagnosis. She encourages my input and has opened up a whole new world of Eastern modalities to his care. How many doctors still follow-up after appointments to inquire after their patient? I know of only one: Dr. Chen. She puts the CARE back in Kasey's life and I am so thankful for what she offers.

Our Chihuahua, Miss Penny, suffered from recurring pancreatitis, leaving her in discomfort. Traditional treatments only managed symptoms, but after finding Dr. Chen at Integrative Pet Wellness, everything changed. Dr. Chen focused on the root causes, creating a plan that improved Penny’s health and happiness. In just three months, Penny’s tests improved, and she’s transitioning off a restrictive diet. We’re thrilled to see her pain-free and full of life. Dr. Chen and her team are incredible, and we’re deeply grateful for their compassionate care.

-Ernest

A year ago, my senior dog, Jackson, was diagnosed with a colon tumor, and traditional vets offered little hope. Seeking alternatives, we found Dr. Lily and her team at Integrative Pet Wellness. Their holistic approach, including supplements, fecal transplants, and ozone therapy, has been life-changing. Jackson is alive, eating, and thriving, with improved bowel movements and a better quality of life. Dr. Lily’s compassion and dedication to pets and their families are unmatched. I highly recommend her for anyone seeking exceptional care for their furry loved ones!

- Olivia

Born with a genetic collagen defect, Olivia suffered injury after injury on her skin. The wounds were very deep. Any small scratch resulted in deep wounds. In June of 2022, Olivia was diagnosed with cutaneous asthenia. All the vets that I took her to, gave up on her. One even suggested that the next time she gets injured, I should consider euthanasia. I was very distraught. Dr. Chen looked at Olivia's incurable genetic skin defect from a holistic perspective and with much love and compassion. Olivia received Phovia Light Therapy, dietary supplements, essential oils, Plasma-rich Platelet (PRP) injections and started microbiome therapy. Now, on the occasion when Olivia’s skin is injured, the essential oils that Dr. Chen prescribes, heal her skin without sutures or antibiotics. Olivia has deformed legs which Dr. Chen treats with PRP treatments. With these treatments, Olivia can jump, run and play like all other kitties. Most critical to Olivia’s overall health, energy level and happiness is microbiome therapy. Dr. Chen’s focus on a healthy microbiome has changed Olivia’s overall health. Her fur is soft and silky, and the deep wounds in her skin have healed.

Limited Spots

To give my founding members my full attention and tailor this training to their needs, I’m limiting this first cohort to just 20 veterinary professionals.

This means you’ll get direct access to me, real-time coaching, and the chance to shape this program from the ground up.
Once these spots are gone, they’re gone.

Future cohorts will be larger, and you’ll likely get more support from my team and a bit less from me personally, simply because I can’t provide that same one-on-one attention to a bigger group.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I earn CE Credits?

This program is currently undergoing Veterinary RACE CE Approval.

I've taken other microbiome courses in the past. How is this different?

What really sets this course apart is the hands-on practical experience, an opportunity to ask questions in real time, and the fact that you’re given the systems and processes you need to make this a streamlined, profitable part of your business.

What if none of my clients allow me to use their pets during this training?

You can do microbiome therapy on your own pet or a pet at the shelter who needs it. If you're concerned about how much it would cost you to do it on your own pet, just send us an email at hello@unicornvet.com

I'm a veterinary oncologist. Is this program for me?

Yes! Microbiome therapy is deeply supportive for pets on a cancer journey.

Will I get enough practice to master microbiome therapy?

You can start a second and third pet after you do the first session for the first. And after you've completed the program, there is an option for 3 months of ongoing support where Dr. Lily will offer you mentorship in a small group as you take on more microbiome therapy patients.

Is this only for vets in the US? Or can any vet in any country enroll?

This program is open to vets who live anywhere in the world! Dr. Lily may not know what labs or donor material exists in your country, but she and her team can support you in finding out.

I can't get donor material in my country.

We'll teach you how to screen and use live donor pets (yours, friends, or other pet patients) as an alternative.

What if we introduce an infection?

We will discuss donor selection criteria, options, and the science behind fecal transplants. There is very minimal risk.

My chronically ill pet patients are on medications—are there contraindications?

I'll teach you how to adjust the protocol for pets on medication and how to integrate it safely with other treatments.

My pet parents won't want to stop antibiotics.

Depending on the situation, we would modify protocols so pet parents feel confident that their pet's disease is stable and they are able to start microbiome therapy. We are going to teach you the communication tools you need to help the pet parents and get them onboard with you.

Do I need a license to do this?

No additional license is required to offer this therapy (as long as you are a licensed veterinarian).

Will I get a certificate?

Yes!! At the end of this program, you will receive a certificate certifying you in Dr. Lily's proprietary BiomeBalance™ sedation-free fecal transplant method as well as certifying you as a Unicorn Academy trained practitioner.

I'm excited about microbiome therapy, but I don't know if I can get my pet parents on board with it.

We'll tell you how to successfully pitch this service to pet parents whose pets need it. You'll get a group sales coaching call with Dr. Lily to support you that will help you sell without feeling salesy.

I'd love to take this program, but none of my pet patients need this.

Even if you don't have any chronically ill pets in your care, you can use this modality to support cancer pets or senior pet patients you might have. Nearly every pet can benefit from microbiome therapy regardless of what health condition they are dealing with.

I want to learn microbiome therapy, but I work for a practice that wouldn't be interested in this.

You can offer this as a side hustle, either at your home or in pet parent’s homes. We will also cover how you can pitch microbiome therapy to your practice and show them the value of offering this treatment.

I'm a vet tech at a practice that wouldn't be interested, can I still do this?

Vet techs cannot offer this therapy independently, but by gaining training and experience, you'll have a valuable credential to partner with an aligned veterinarian and the potential to earn more.

Can pet parents claim from insurance?

Many insurance policies do cover this, depending on the provider.

I live outside the US, can I still access the microbiome testing?

Yes! VDI labs ships internationally and has successfully worked with vets and pet parents in Australia, Korea, and Japan. Their method of collecting samples means you can safely ship your microbiome test to them from anywhere in the world.
